Appreciation of Buggyra in the context of the testing at Nogaro by the latest two champions of the prestigious Brazilian truck championship Renato Martins (2006) and Felipe Giaffone (2007) was tremendous. The stars of the RM Team driving in Brazil VW Constalation vehicle also appreciated the safety elements, whose standard, in their opinion, are a little higher in Europe than in their home country.
In the case of the current Brazilian champion this statement is no surprise. Some time ago Feilipe Giaffone ended his participation in a race of the American series Indy Cars in Kansas City with a serious accident followed by six months´ stay in hospital. "I envy European truckers in this respect. And also in respect of the figure of the technical delegate of FIA, Mr. Fabien Calvet. He is a real professional with a clear vision of the future." As for Buggyra, Felipe, who won his title in the very first racing season, mainly concentrated on the vehicle behaviour while cornering. "I am fascinated by the torque and mainly by the stability and behaviour of the special when cornering. The engineers and mechanics did an excellent job on the chassis and the axle load distribution."
The double champion of Brazil and owner of the team in one person, Renato Martins, was in turn overwhelmed by the brakes. "Buggyra is nearly one tonne and a half heavier than my VW, I really did not expect so perfectly functioning brakes." Despite the praise the Brazilian truck start proposed a minor adaptation. "I would certainly remove the speed limiter (laughter). The Nogaro track is very demanding. It resembles our Brazilian tracks. Just the home stretch is too long for my taste. When driving along at the edge of my speed limiter I always had a feeling that there was time for a cigarette."
