Even though for the reason of fulfilment of marketing liabilities Markus Bosiger could not take part in yesterday ´s press conference of his team, he was informed about its progress in great detail. The current European champion has fully identified himself with the statements of Mario Kress and David Vršecký pronounced at the conference!
As Markus has revealed in the phone call this morning, the media strategy was developed in the course of the second testing at Nogaro. "The new Buggyra functioned well and met the expectations. Goals other than defence of both titles would strongly smell of buck passing. But at the same time we know very well how hard this will be," said Markus Bosiger. "MAN introduced a new engine last season and the innovation somewhat did not meet the expectations. I am sure that in the course of the winter break they did their best to increase their chances for return to the truck throne after the pause."
The Swiss driver clearly states that his last year ´s victory can by no means attenuate his racing ambitions. "If this was the case I would simply give up racing completely. In motorsport there are no friendly matches, the driver must put 100% of his skills into every race. In addition I an eager to find out how defence feels after winning the title."
Markus was amused by the questions of Czech newspapermen concerning potential victory of David in the championship. "I do not think David will have to wait for his first champion title until his fifties like me. But I am not sure whether his victory is scheduled for this particular season (laughter). Anyway, I have already said on a couple of occasions that if I am to lose then I would like to see David to be the winner in the first place. But the boy will not have it easy with me…"
