On Saturday this year ´s season of European Cup in truck racing will start in Barcelona. The third best driver of the past season and the black horse of the 2008 championship fights the starting fever in his own way – in the air!
In addition to his girlfriend Martina, trucks and fitness he has discovered a new passion: flying of all kinds. "As we are flying to Barcelona tomorrow, this is my last free day. I will spend most of it at the airport," confirmed David, who will begin his aeronautic day by flying an RC helicopter. "Even though I do not leave the ground doing this, it involves a lot of "nerves" anyway. Only those proceeding with this discipline step by step will understand how nice feeling it is to follow a helicopter flying. I have been quite successful in this discipline."
In the afternoon David will actually fly. As revealed by him at the press conference last Tuesday, he is a candidate for pilot certificate and today he has his next lesson. "I am looking forward to my flight. It is the same as driving a car but much quicker. And also I miss the road. Otherwise there is nothing like that. I must concentrate on flying and will not have time to think of Barcelona so much. Before the Saturday measured training starts I will be tortured with lots of different psychic stresses."
