A horrible start with a happy end. This is the characteristics of the opening cup race of this season through the eyes of the racing drivers of the Buggyra International Racing System team David Vršecky and Markus Bosiger. Even though after the first round they were at the tail of the starting field their excellent performance during the race brought them third and fourth position at the finish.
The setting of the whole race was marked with an incredible downpour starting a couple of minutes before the start. Even though the organizers postponed the beginning waiting for the rain to stop, eventually the race was started in the "wet setting". In the very first curve Bosiger and Albacete bumped into each other and were thrown off the track, followed with other favorites Vršecký and Hahn. While both Buggyras returned to the seemingly lost race and continued, the collision ended the race completely for both MAN stars. "I tried to keep the track, while Antonio overstated the speed a little," said Markus Bosiger, who was fifteenth after the start. David Vršecký was even two positions after him. "I could hear in my earphones that the field was led by Franta Vojtíšek and Oliver was third, Antonio and Jochen were off and the other names of the drivers in front were unknown for us."
Both Buggyras started their fight for victory in the rain. Bosiger was the first to get to a scored position in the fourth round, while Vršecký took the tenth position in the following round. "Mario Kress informed me in the walkie-talkie that the fight for the third position was still open, but that I should certainly keep a scored position at least," described the progress of the race the Swiss driver, who ran fourth in the eleventh round. At that time his Buggyra began to strike. "One cylinder stopped working, luckily just David overtook me. I won the gold ten score points."
In the same round David Vršecký got to the third position. At that moment Oliver, who ran second in front of him, was 7 seconds ahead. "If somebody had told me in the second round that I would be driving for one of the winning positions, I would have thought he was crazy. I tried to speed up for one round but the truck did not like it on the wet road. I am happy about the cup race result, of course."
After the opening day of the championship Markus is third with 20 score points, with just one-point loss after the winning pair Vojtíšek – Oliver. David Vršecký with 19 score points is fourth.
