Performance from the dream category was presented in the Sunday Cup Race by the racing drivers of the Buggyra International Racing System team! David Vršecký celebrated his fourth victory in a row in Barcelona and his score of 49 points placed him to the very top of the European championship. Markus Boriger ended second. His Barcelona score of 40 places him to the overall second best position!
The fifteen-kilometer race turned a one man show of David Vršecký. The Roudnice trucker made a perfect start and nobody was able to prevent him from obtaining his tenth race truck victory. Four rounds before the end his advantage over the third Albacete approached the magic limit of ten seconds. "I enjoyed the fifteen rounds indeed. Luckily relatively soon I began to overtake drivers one round behind and so I could not get bored so easily. My respect for the engineers and mechanics, they have prepared a fantastic truck for me," said David after the race, adding that he equally appreciates his overall first position. "It would be ideal to be equally happy after Jarama, but, unfortunately, nine more races are ahead of us before we will be able to finally rejoice."
The current European champion Markus Bosiger kept the second position won in the qualifying race and drove in virtually the same peace as his team colleague. In fact the situation of last year repeated itself. In the third round I could see that it was no point chasing David. He was absolutely undefeatable today. I therefore concentrated on my own performance and slowed down a little towards the end. Like David I would like to express my warmest thanks to the engineers and mechanics."
