Despite the very questionable penalisation depriving Markus Boesiger of nearly sure victory in the Sunday cup race at the Nurburgring the European Champion of last season has kept cool mind nevertheless! Even though losing 22 points in relation to the current leader of the championship David Vršecký he has not lost faith in his finally defending the title!
In the next four races remaining before the end of this European Cup season (Most, Zolder, Le Mans and Jarama) Markus wants to "sell" his fantastic form shown in the last two races. Didn´t he have to give up at Nogaro on Sunday and leave the track from the top rank just due to a banal technical defect, and wasn´t he the very first trucker writ large in the history of truck racing thanks to exceeding the maximum permitted speed of 70 km/hr of the passing start? "The whole team performs excellently, at the Nurburgring the truck functioned perfectly. However, there are things one cannot control however much one would like to," said Markus adding that he refuses any discussion about his pass through the pits. "You cannot change anything by talking about it. I must get ready for the rest of the championship instead."
He is happy about the overall lead of his fellow trucker David Vršecký. "David performs wonderfully and is also a bit lucky. But luck is on stock for great racers only. Potential victory over him, regarding his excellent form, doubles my motivation to win."
