Over this coming weekend Roudnice nad Labem will host Junior World Championship in Water Slalom. The Buggyra International Racing System team will be represented at the event at least by the "sharp" trucker David Vršecký!
The participation of David himself is uncertain at the moment, though. "Of course I would like to view the event. In addition, world championships are not held in my native Roudnice every day," said David, whose participation at the championship might be prevented by fulfilment of marketing liability abroad. "The thing has come somewhat at the last moment, but it is so much interesting for the future that I cannot reject in the case of interest of the foreign partner."
"We obviously welcome events like that," confirmed the team manager Jan Kalivoda. "Water slalom is one of the disciplines where Czech athletes have been most successful. Even though it may not be seen at first sight, water slalom can produce as much adrenalin as truck racing."
And not only that. Buggyra team has a very positive relationship to the Roudnice water sports. They produced one of the greatest stars in history of Czech truck racing and the founder of the Buggyra team, Martin Koloc. The double champion of 1995-96 was engaged in water slalom himself. His successor, the current leader of this year ´s championship overall ranking, David Vršecký, "sailed" the "territorial waters" of Roudnice in a water scooter before changing for the trucks.
