The jubilee fifteenth victory in the colours of Buggyra was added to the score account of David Vršecký in Most on Saturday. This moved him in the historic table to the second rank after Gerd Körber, triple champion of the Old Continent, who rejoiced after victory seventeen times. Markus Bösiger has climbed the top step of the winners´ rostrum thirteen times!
As pointed out by the jubilant Vršecký, Markus only needed less than two seasons to achieve his thirteen triumphs in cup races. David does not need to be too modest in this respect, for the score of the duel Vršecký versus Bösiger after Most has been 9:12. And there are six more races before the racing season ends. "I like to win but regarding the development of the championship I only need to finish before Markus and Antonio," the leader of the interim overall ranking reveals his tactics. His last year ´s third ranking has already been secured after his performance in Most. "I am afraid, though, that if I want to finish before Antonio, and especially before Markus, I will need to win anyway. My team fellow has reached excellent form. I mean it, this is not part of tactics meant to lull Markus."
David values his Most victory as high as his 2003 victory at the Nürburgring. "I like things that happen for the first time. In addition I will not need to hear any more that I am the only Czech trucker unable to win in Most," explains David, adding that there is a point of reference unifying both of the abovementioned races. "Both at the Nürburgring and in Most I defeated current European champions in direct duels. I would say that Markus digested that a little better than Gerd then. I hole he will digest equally well that I will deprive him of his champion title this year," said Vršecký as a conclusion with a smile!
Bösiger´s reaction came immediately: "I have carefully inspected the photos taken after I won the champion title last year. David is genuinely happy in the photos. That is why I would be equally happy if he won the champion title. Only I am not absolutely sure that he will not have to wait for a while still."
