Even though Markus Bösiger has not defended his European champion title of last year, there is nothing at all that might suggest his disappointment. Despite the fact that he spent the last day of the championship as a supernumerary waiting for Vršecký´s mistake or potential technical problems!
"If somebody is able to obtain over 400 score points in nine races, there is nothing to talk about. David was clearly the best this season and the champion title has been granted to the best hands. That is no doubt," said Markus after the prize-giving ceremony in the course of which he received not only the cup for the second ranking in the individual championship but also the Constructors´ Cup together with David and the technical director of the team Mario Kress. "On Sunday David showed how great racer he is. Antonio was certainly slower, especially in some sections of the cup race. David, however, still managed to hold his heart of a racer within the optimum pulse frequency and did not risk the slightest collision."
In Markus´ opinion the truck bread was divided at the end of the first half of the championship, namely at the tracks of Nogaro and Nurburgring. "In France I gave up the first raking a couple of minutes before the end of the race. As was found later, the reason was a banal defect. At Nürburgring I received in my opinion completely nonsensical penalty for exceeded permitted speed of approach to the start. Nobody met with anything like that before and after me. David thus obtained more than twenty points´ advantage which I did not manage to eliminate. As far as I know I won the second half of the championship by one point", commented Markus on the completed championship adding that his words can by no means be considered as an expression of excessive sorrow. "I have been in the business for a sufficiently long time to know that there are things more important than racing. In addition I have spent with Buggyra the best and most successful two years of my truck racing career, with is something I would like to thank all people of the great team for."
