Even though the team management have decided to keep information about testing confidential, David ´s preparation was clearly quite different from his preparation for the previous record breaking attempts. "Testing for the record challenge was based on the necessity of correct timing and especially correct start," revealed David, who focused in the past couple of days on work with the accelerator pedal. "All seems quite simple at first sight. I will sit down in my truck with its automatic transmission, press the accelerator pedal and then have my time measured in the finish. Unfortunately, my attempt will be about something completely different. If the wheels slip a little at the start I can stop the truck and attempt a new start right away." David praises the automatic transmission after the testing. "Manual gear changes would give me no chance. This automatic transmission approaches absolute perfection. I feel how the truck changes gears and accelerates in the process."
Boije Ovebrink approached the finish of his record breaking attempt at the speed of 244 km/hr. In David ´s opinion this "maximum" speed should not present any major problem. "But this is not what it is all about. The mean will be more important, and the means rarely favour extremes. I am quite clear about this."
