For the third time in this season, three Buggyra vehicles appeared at the start of the European Truck Racing Cup, because our team brought up reinforcement, the same way as in Misano and Nrburgring, personalized by Adam Lacko, who otherwise normally participates in the World Touring Car Racing Cup, where he wears the colors of the Internet Expres Prima team.
This time, so many trucks overcrowded the domestic circuit in Most that organizers had to cancel certain intermediate races, because otherwise all vehicles could not get into the restricted pit areas. And analogous to the situation in Germany, 33 vehicles had to be divided, according to starting numbers, into two basic groups - odd numbers (A) and even numbers (B). So, in the first group, Gerd met again with Allger, Biger, Vojtk and young Rodrigues. David's and Adam's had strong opponents - Albacete, Hahn, Garrett, and Crozier. Even Friday's free practices indicated that the trio of last year's "buddies" of our team, i.e. David, Gerd and Antonio Albacete were hot favorites of this weekend.
Gerd won the Sutarday's Timed Practice in A-Group, in B-Group, David was second behind Albacete, Adam reached the fifth time. Albacete, Gerd and Adam went in for the first Qualification Race together. The Spaniard used his pole-position and the new initial curve, which made the Most's circuit more attractive, and passed it as first in front of Gerd. In following six laps they whirled round with consummate skill in front of the common ruck. Then, Gerd slowed down visibly, and in two last laps he was overtaken not only by excellently running Hahn, a German pilot, and by Puli a great surprise from Croatia, but also by otherwise inexpressive Biger from Switzerland. Afterwards in pits, mechanics and technicians saw through Gerd's Buggyra, and revealed a burst hose leading to the turbo-supercharger. Adam arrived on the sixth place just behind Gerd. The Qualification Race of the second group was completely under direction of David, who could even afford to drive one "cooling" lap at the race close and so to save the vehicle for the main race. There he struck an impressive battle with Albacete. Again, Albacete used his better position in the first curve and took the lead. For several laps only Hahn kept up with Albacete and David, but also he started to fade down gradually. David ringed patiently behind the Spaniard, and waited Spaniard's mistake. However, Albacete kept an ideal line and closed immediately any free spaces, through which David could overtake him. The grandstand cheered them strongly, when they rushed to the finish line, which was crossed by Albacete on the first place with a 19 hundredth of second lead before David. "Secure points for the second place are better, then a zero for hazarding," summarized David his own performance before the ceremonial announcement of results. However, he got closer to the second place in the standing after this 7th event. In the race, Gerd placed sixth and Adam seventh.
Also in Sunday's Timed Practices, after summarizing both groups, Albacete, David, and Gerd occupied podium placements; Adam was fifth. Therefore the Qualification Race of the first group was in token of a combat among Albacete, Gerd, and Adam. The Spaniard wan with a minimum lead in front of Gerd, Adam lost his ultimate battle for the last podium placement with Allger, Austria. David won the second Qualification race in the "start-finish" way. This Cup Race had a dramatic introduction, from which Gerd heavily suffered. After his collision with Allger and Hahn, he had to withdraw from race immediately in the first lap. Albacete established himself firmly in the first position, followed closely by David. After four laps, this couple enjoyed a ten-second lead, where they tripled this lead when passing the race finish line. Also this time, David vainly tried to overtake Albacete, but in the end he was very satisfied with his second place. "I obtained 50 points during this weekend, which I had never succeeded to getin one weekend. Again, I approximated to the second place of temporary rankings by winning several points, and on the other side I made an expressive leap to get a greater lead before Hahn on the fourth place. I strived to win also in the main race, but Antonio was superb in Most," said the third man in the total rankings in his comments to ridings on the Most's racing circuit. Gerd is on fifth place, and is behind his fellow-countryman Hahn by mere three points. Adam is thirteen among 54 classified pilots, despite of the fact that he participated only in mere three races of total seven events.
