2000 Idea

Buggyra MK002

If anyone came to conclusion that Martin Koloc got discouraged from further activity in truckracing due to the course of events connected with his strange and still unexplained disqualification, received a cogent reply in the second half of the year. The champion of Europe in Race Truck class in years 1995-96 enters a seemingly utopian project. The project was to create the first private team in Super Race Truck class with the annual budget of hundreds of millions Czech crowns. And due to the fact Koloc pursued his vision with his inherent stubborness, the results appeared soon.

2001 Difficult beginnings

It is 19 April 2001. On the premises of newly built Buggyra Technlology Center located in Roudnice nad Labem the mastermind of the whole project, Martin Koloc, just introduced to motor world new racing special of the Super Race Truck Class Buggyra. Besides the unusual name and original design, the attention attracts also the driver. It is the European Champion and one of the most successful pilots of the truck history Gerd Koerber. Even though the investments into development are astronomical even for European standards, the German Champion is quite modest in his predictions. First year is in his opinion about experience.

Koerber's prediction proves to be correct. He finishes the season on the eighth place. Nevertheless, he is together with the team boss Martin Koloc and technical director of the team Mario Kress satisfied. Reason? If Buggyra is running, it belongs by all means to the fastest racing specials. And this proves that the development is heading in the right direction! Now it is time for reliability!

2002 Championship title

New season enters Buggyra with new specials, design and motors. And also introduces a second driver David Vrsecky. Before the beginning of the season, duo Koloc-Kress declare the only objective of Buggyra - to win the Championship title. The team goes step by step towards its goal. In Misano stands Koerber for the first time in the team's history on the winner's stand; in Zolder he celebrates the first triumph in the cup race. The season culminates with extremely dramatic race in Lausitzring. Everybody's hands go up several seconds after the finish. Gerd Koerber becomes the European Champion. David Vrsecky is the Novice of the Year.

2003 Betting on reliability

New motor is developed during the winter break. Besides that, the engineers together with the mechanics are building a new racing special. One of the economically strongest teams Equipo Cepsa is looking for a new racing special for its pilot and goes for Buggyra. In Nogaro, Koerber wins with Vrsecky behind and the team celebrates its first double. In the race of the year in front of 200 000 spectators Vrsecky wins as the first Czech ever the race in SRT Class. On the winner's stand he is joined by Koerber and Albacete. 100% triumph of Buggyra!

Another celebration takes place at the end of the season in Le Mans. Gerd Koerber, as the first driver in the history, defends the super truck title; David Vrsecky ends on the overall third place! Buggyra takes six out of ten victories in the cup races.

2004 New priorities

Beginning of 2004 is bombastic! In February, David Vrsecky breaks with the Buggyra "super special" the truck world speed record in Dubai reaching 281,723 km/h. There is a change of the drivers before the season begins; Gerd Koeber is replaced by French 1998 European Champion Ludovic Faure. As shown already on Nürburgring, leaving of Koerber is only temporary. Team's management decides on moving to Race Truck Class and who else than Gerd is able to prepare the new special Freightliner. So while Faure and Vrsecky struggle for the third super truck title in a row, ending on the second and third place, Koerber prepares in Nürburgring, Most and Le Mans the new truck. The year 2004 is also significant with not very positive information. The mastermind and team boss of BUGGYRA team Martin Koloc due to his unceasingly worsening health announces his definitive retirement from truckracing.

2005 Unexpected success

In the next season, Buggyra International Racing System enters the Race Truck Class with proven pilots Gred Koerber and David Vrsecky. They are a big unknown for their competitors. However, David "deciphers" the new truck already in the first race of the new season by winning in Barcelona. The same success repeats in Albacete. Gerd Koerber has a slower start; in the first half of the season he wins in Albacete. Finish is however overwhelming - Koerber wins four out of six cup races and ends on the overall third place. Vrsecky is fourth. Since it was supposed to be an "introductory" season, the placing of both drivers equals victory. On top of that, Buggyra could afford to enter with third special during the season to test new technologies. Behind the steering wheel appeared Adam Lacko and trucker from Belgium Jean Pierre Blaise.

2006 Great ambition

Season 2006 proceeds in the spirit of experienced couple Gerd Koerber - David Vršecký and also of not small ambitions. According to the technical director of team Mario Kress the goal is clear - gaining title of champion. The beginning of season clearly indicates this. While David Vršecký more often battled with technical problems, Gerd Körber in the middle of season still kept his second overall position in the championship. Körber's attack on the first position was to come in Most. But the roles have changed and while Vršecký drove to a nice second position, Körber's dream of title slowly began to feather away. The last dot behind the vision of the third title in Buggyra colours was the race in Spanish Jarama. It was decided. Körber left Buggyra as a vicechampion and David Vršecký after all the troubles finished overall fifth. However, with five victories he can boast of one hypothetical title - the king of measured trainings.

2007 European titles

The team entered the season with a new racing driver when Gerd Koerber was replaced by Markus Bosiger. The Swiss trucker became the leader after the very first qualification race and did not let his leading post in the championship to anybody throughout the season! He was excellently seconded by David Vršecký, who ranked third in the overall classification and became the very firth driver in truck racing history winning at Nurburgring in both Race Truck and Super Race Truck classes. At five of the total number of nine tracks - Barcelona, Zolder, Nurburgring, Le Mans, Misano - Buggyra won all cup races. Bosiger scored 7 victories, David two less. Two races were still left to the end of the season and they could already rejoice over the historically first title of European Champion Pair.
