Home from Spa and straight into the race. Jiří Mičánek will start at the summit race in Brno
Three racing Lamborghinis and two tracks a thousand kilometres apart. The Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team will make full use of its fleet and complete staff and, in addition to the race weekend at the Spa-Francorschamps circuit, will also be at home in Brno.
On Saturday afternoon, he and the team will be evaluating the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, but on Sunday, Jiří Mičánek Jr. will be standing with the Lamborghini in the colours of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra at the start of the summit race at the Masaryk circuit. For the first time ever, the team will use all three Lamborghini Huracán EVOs at its disposal in a single race weekend.
"It's logistically challenging from this point of view, both in terms of technology and people But after the great experience from the Castle Hill in Náměšt' nad Oslavou, I don't want to miss the home event," explains the team manager and also the driver who finished second in his class in his debut on the hillclimb track two weeks ago.
He will want to build on this success in Brno. Although the race is held on the standard Masaryk Circuit track, the start and finish are postponed. "On the straights, there are also retarders added, so from this point of view, it is a completely different track than the one I know," explains Jiří Mičánek that the advantages of the "home ground", where he grew up racing and where the Mičánek Motosport team has historically had a background, will not be too noticeable.
"Already in Náměšt', it turned out that the alpha and omega is to manage a solid start. A good start can make 0.2 - 0.8 seconds, while at the finish we fight for every tenth," outlined the two-time Czech circuit champion. The race at the Masaryk Circuit is open to the public as well, grandstand C is open for free, while the paddock is free of charge. "I hope that Brno will have a similarly great atmosphere as Náměšt' two weeks ago," concludes Jiří Mičánek.
