Buggyra gears up before Dakar Rally, Jaroslav Valtr will drive Tatra in Poland
Only four months remaining to the start of Dakar Rally. So it is not surprising that preparations of TATRA Buggyra ZM Racing are getting hotter and hotter. Hard test of new components for Tatra Phoenix truck will take place at Baja Poland. Cross-country rally is taking place in northwestern Poland in a traditional location near Drawsko. Name of the pilot could be surprise for the fans, Tatra will be driven by Jaroslav Valtr.

„Jaroslav Valtr will drive the Baja Poland as part of testing new components of Tatra truck. We have yet to inform you about the final squad for Dakar 2023,“ said Buggyra team principal Martin Koloc.
As a codriver in Valtr’s truck will serve Jaroslav Miškolci, Tomáš Šikola will be the on-board mechanic. Baja Poland’s start list includes name of Valtr’s son Michal With Iveco or Lithuanian driver Vaidotas Paskevicius with Tatra Jamal.
„This year we tested the limits of engine performance in the second part of Dakar. It worked, so now we have about 1200 hp. But some parts were at the limit. That’s why we will test in Poland software and hardware changes on the transmission, on the engine and changes to shift maps. The goal is for everything to survive challenging conditions of the Dakar and for the pilots to continue to enjoy maximum performance, which is especially needed in the dunes,“ explained goal of Polish mission team constructor David Vršecký.
Baja Poland will start at on Friday in the early evening in Szczecin. Three days cross-country rally will end at the same place on Sunday afternoon. Competition, which is part of FIA World Cup and FIA European Cup, has total distance 774,59 km, stages are 491,30 km in total.
