Buggyra Zero Mileage GT Cup begins

On Friday, the first-ever Buggyra Racing’s virtual championship begins with the opening round at Blackwood GP. The first season features 10 rounds.

“The whole championship will run on Live For Speed 3, on the newest version, which is currently 0.6U. All drivers must have an LFS S3 license. Those with S2 license, will be eligible for one less round,” says the main sporting delegate Robert Kotlaba. Each round consists of 20-minute long qualifying, a Sprint race on 5 laps and an Endurance race on 90 minutes. The starting grid for the Endurance race is determined by results in the Sprint race. After tomorrow’s first race, the season will continue on May 10, with the final round scheduled on November 11. “It’s going to collide with some of our other activities, but as promoters, we must go all in,” says team manager Jan Kalivoda.

That means several things. First of all, drivers will be competing for a prize pool of several thousands of Euros. Then, Buggyra Racing will be entering its own sim racing team with Tomáš Enge, David Vršecký, Téo Calvet, Aliyyah Koloc and Yasmeen Koloc. “For myself, I can’t say much. It looks like Tomáš and David will lead the way, with Téo right behind them. Yasmeen will be learning, but my racing instinct says that Aliyyah can do something on the track,” says team owner Martin Koloc.

“It will be big. Qualifying, Sprint, the main race. Every small mistake could potentially mean the end. It’s allowed to refuel only once and to change the tyres. Me and Tomáš Enge will be sort of dinosaurs who did not live in the simulator era. You cannot doubt its significance in driver’s development today. It is going to be about 90 minutes of full concentration and knowing, that your hands can’t freeze on the wheel even for a split of a second,” said David Vršecký, who was preparing very hard. While the sim race with XRR cars will feature calm weather, it’s impossible not to admit that the simulators have a positive effect on the drivers.

The driver who is going to have the most points at the end of the season, after deleting three worst results, will be declared the first Buggyra Zero Mileage GT champion.

“I don’t want it to sound like an excuse, but we will race against the best sim racing drivers in the world. Every time I race, I want to win and I’ll do my best this year. But it will be so hard,” said the only Czech driver to ever race in Formula 1 and to win 24 hours of Le Mans, Tomáš Enge.
