First race, first win. Jiří Mičánek dominated the domestic hill climb prologue

Team manager Jiří Mičánek Jr. took his first victory of the year for the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team at the domestic summit race at the Masaryk Circuit called Brněnský drak. With the Lamborghini Huracán sporting the new team colors, he dominated his category.

Jiří Mičánek was the fastest driver on the track, leading from the Schwantz turn on the Masaryk Circuit to its highest point, clocking a time of 1:12.480. He finished 2.44 seconds ahead of the second-fastest rider, Martin Jerman, in the over 3000cc class with a single axle, making it the fastest race. In the overall standings, only the monoposts finished ahead of Jiří Mičánek, with one exception.

"Once again, the Maverick Hill Climb series showed its strength and a packed starting field. I am glad that we were able to stay so high in it and score our first victory," comments Jiří Mičánek, who was followed into the pit by a number of guests, including legendary singer Jožka Černý, a family friend of the Mičáneks.

During the race weekend, Jiří Mičánek also presented his new helmet—the first of those he will use this year. He auctioned off last year's helmet in January at a benefit evening, with the proceeds going to the Brno facility for abandoned children, Klokánek. The new design, inspired by the colors and motifs in Niki Lauda's helmets, was created by Jakub Paleček of Studio EXD, one of the best airbrush artists in the Czech Republic.

"I decided to have more designs made for this year. I will always commission them from the best designers in the Czech Republic," explains Jiří Mičánek, who saw the new helmet for the first time just before taking it out on the Masaryk Circuit. "Each of the motifs will be unique, and for this one, I took inspiration from Niki Lauda and his fluorescent red."

The hill climb season will continue in Náměšt' nad Oslavou on the first weekend of May, but in less than two weeks, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo season will start in Imola, where the team will field two new crews - Broněk Formánek with Štefan Rosina and Jáchym Galáš with Matěj Pavlíček.
