Two podiums in a wet finish. Jiří Mičánek secures 2nd and 3rd place at Náměšť
Jiří Mičánek Jr. clinched two podium finishes at the Czech Hill Climb Championship in Náměšt' nad Oslavou. Following his second-place finish on Saturday, Jiří Mičánek secured a third position on Sunday, narrowly missing out on second place due to a sudden rain shower.
"Náměšt' confirmed our position as one of the fastest cars in Group 2 of the Czech Championship. It's a pity that our duel with Richard Meixner for the second place couldn't conclude until the final race, which the fans were eagerly anticipating. Unfortunately, rain began to fall, resulting in the final run being timed as the slowest," explained Jiří Mičánek regarding the race circumstances.
Despite the rainy finale, the team thoroughly enjoyed the race weekend in Náměšt' amidst thousands of fans. "I have to express my gratitude to HaSpol, where we were able to set up our facilities and be right at the starting line, which wouldn't have been possible otherwise," added Jiří Mičánek, who drove onto the track from a spot just two dozen meters from the start line. "I believe the fans appreciated it too, as they could easily find us," he continued.
Jiří Mičánek clocked the fastest time in the second race on Sunday, erasing the forty percent deficit from Richard Meixner's morning time. "The most important thing for us is that we enjoyed a fantastic weekend with the fans, confirmed our position among the top cars in our class, and, most importantly, safely brought the car to the finish line," said Jiří Mičánek with a smile.
Immediately after the event at Náměšt', his Huracán was transported to the workshop. Following a night shift, the mechanics of the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team loaded it onto a truck along with another car and headed to Belgium. The second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series will take place there this weekend, with the team fielding two crews - Broněk Formánek with Štefan Rosina and Jáchym Galáš with Matěj Pavlíček.
