Yasmeen is heading to Hungary to win the title
Shortly after a truck racing weekend, Hungaroring is also set to host the next round of the ESET Cup. It is going to be the final round of the season and the championship title will be decided in both Sprint and Endurance categories, with Yasmeen Koloc being the biggest favourite to win the latter category.
Yasmeen is currently a championship leader after rounds at Grobnik, Slovakia Ring and Brno. It is even more impressive considering that she did not race in the opening round of the season in Grobnik, Croatia. In the first race of the season, it was her sister Aliyyah who got a chance as she was fighting for the licence and she even managed to win. Then, Yasmeen and Téo Calvet won in Slovakiaring, with Enge – Koloc team taking the 2nd place in Brno. But there are still more drivers involved in the championship title hunt.
“First, Yasmeen has to do a 25-minute sprint and then a one-hour endurance race. It’s true that mathematically speaking, it’s looking very well, but you never know in motorsport until you cross the finish line,” says Tomáš Enge, who is going to join Yasmeen in the Renault Clio car.
“On one side, she’s just 16-year-old, but on the other side, she’s started relatively late. The important thing is that she really wants it, even though sometimes a bit too much. But she knows that while it’d be really nice to win her first title at Hungaroring in her first season, it’s still just a beginning for her. She’s got an incredible team behind her and there’s so much ahead of her. All she needs to do is just to do the right steps in her development,” he added.
“First of all, I’d like to win for my great team and my mentor. The strategy, set by Tomáš, is that we want to finish the race, as quickly as possible,” said Yasmeen.
